Colette Snyder (1948 - 2011) Grimes

Colette Snyder, 62, died suddenly Saturday, February 19, 2011. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 25, 2011 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Des Moines. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m., Friday at St. Edward's Cemetery in Afton, IA. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines.

Colette Kae "Kady" was born October 31, 1948 to Jerry and Helen (Olmstead) Snyder in Creston, IA. She was raised in Afton and attended East Union Schools. Following graduation, Colette moved to Des Moines to live and work. She has been employed at PDI for the last 24 years. Colette was very active in her church and a number of other charitable organizations. She enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Deann (Troy) Cook of Johnston; grandchildren, Colin and Karly; her sister, Sherry (Jim) Bradley of Afton; several nieces and nephews.

Colette was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard. A memorial fund has been established and will be directed to charities close to Colette's heart.
