Frances Mary Scandroli, 87, of Rockford passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Born August 23, 1926 in Afton, IA, to Albert and Katherine (Brosnahan) Weis.
Frances attended business school in Des Moines, IA, where she met and married the love of her life, Angelo Charles Scandroli, on September 6, 1947.
She worked many years for the office of Dr. Robert Rosenberg.
Frances was the cornerstone of her family, with a warm and generous heart that touched all who knew her.
She was and always will be a presence in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She will be truly missed.
Survivors include her children, Carol Lieber, Barbara Mork, and Phillip (Jill Buckingham) Scandroli; grandchildren, Katherine (Brian) Rufh, Rebecca (Ben) Tuula, Stacey (David) Buckner, Melissa (Jeremy) Jewell, Andrew Scandroli, Adam Mork, and Alex Scandroli; great-grandchildren, Nathan Lieber, Brianna Lieber, Abigail, Samantha, Natalie, and Alex Rufh, Grace and Jackson Tuula; siblings, Donald (Anna) Weis, Lawrence "Pete" Weis, Harry Weis, Frederick "Fritz" (Lois) Weis, Edwin (Kate) Weis, Regina "Jeannie" (Leonard) Petit; sister-in-law, Rita Beyer, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her husband, parents, sister, Patricia Weis, sister-in-laws, Ava Jean, and Joanne Weis; and brother-in-law, Albert Beyer.
Private Services under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Monsignor Daniel Deutsch officiant. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
