AUTOS COLLIDE, FATAL TO TWO
Mrs. Florence Eloise Kuhns, 27, and her daughter, Marylan, 7, were instantly killed when the automobile driven by their husband and father, Lloyd Kuhns, collided with an automobile driven by Thomas Eugene Hawks, 19 of Creston.
The Kuhns were returning home from a ballgame and were driving west on a county road that intersects with the road that runs north and south past the new Creston airport. High banks that are topped with weeds obstructs the view until within 20 feet of the intersection. Deputy Sheriff William Hower and State Highway Patrolman Cletus C. Stangle said that evidence indicated that Hawks was crossing the intersection when his car was struck midway on the left side by the front of the Kuhns automobile. The body of the little girl was found near the left wheel of the car. Both died instantly of severe head injuries.
Neither car was severly damaged, neither was the driver of either car injured in the accident.
