Quinn Hawley, 16 year old son of Mrs. Mary Lawley, was found dead in the bathroom of their home at 511 New York Avenue last eveing as his mother returned from her work at the Farmers Co-operative company office. Dr. A. S. Beatty, Union county coroner said death was due to brain concussion.

Death occurred sometime during the afternoon, probably about 3 o'clock. Dr. Beatty said Young Hawley was undressed and presence of a wet town in the bathroom indicated he had taken a bath, although the tub was empty.

Soap on Floor

Scattered on the floor, which was also damp, were part of the contents of a box of soap flakes, which led the coroner to believe the boy had slipped, lost his footing and struck his head in the fall.

Young Hawley was born February 9, 1922, in St. Louis and came to Creston nine years ago. He was a student in Creston high school, a member of the sophomore class. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lawley and several other relatives.
