Harden, Arthur (Pat) -
Arthur (Pat) Harden, age 85, of 1200 Lake Avenue, Creston, Ia. died Friday evening, Jan. 18, 1985
at the Creston Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Aug. 24, 1899 in Adams County, Ia. to Roscoe and Ella Ballentine Harden on July 19,
1928, he was married to Anna Elizabeth Cramer in Taylor County, Ia.
Pat taught school in Adams and Taylor counties for 14 years. He began farming in 1928, settling in Union county in 1944. He retired and moved to Creston in 1966. Pat was a member of the First
Christian Church and was active in community affairs.
In addition to his wife, Anna, he is survived by a daughter, Gwendolyn (Mrs. Keith) Wambold of
Winterset; two sons, Eldon and wife, Connie of Creston and Vernon and wife, Mary of Payson,
Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a sister, Lena (Mrs. Harold) Welch of Lenox.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and one grandson.
Services were held Monday, Jan. 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Creston.
Reverend Robert L. Pickerell officiated.
Interment was in Graceland Cemetery at Creston. Keating-Lindsay Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
A memorial has been established to the First Christian Church. Music was provided by Jean
Schmoll.
Casket bearers were Dan and Jim Harden, Doug and Dale Wambold, Merle Jackson, Terry Evans,
and Donald Shepherd.
