Everett E. Cashman, Sr. of Lenox died July 18 at the Rosary Hospital in Corning at eighty three years of age. Mr. Cashman was a businessman in Lenox for many years operating a cafe and then service station. The family later moved to Creston.
Mr. Cashman served with the famed Rainbow Division during World War I. He was married to Ruth Pauline Henworthy who preceded him in death in 1971. Following his wife's death and his retirement, Everett moved to California. He later returned to Lenox where he lived at the Hotel Lenox until moving to the Lenox Care Center two years ago.
He was a member of the First Christian Church transferring his membership to the Lenox church from Creston.
Survivors include one son, Everett E. Cashman. Jr. of Salinas, California; two grandchildren, seven great grandchildren,and one great great grandchild.
Services were held at the Keating-Lindsay Funeral Home in Creston on July 21 with Reverend Charles Miller officiating.
Casket bearers were members of the VFW Post #1797 Rifle Squad of Creston.
Interment was in Graceland Cemetery at Creston. Military honors were conducted by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
