April 24, 1884

Miss Lizzie Bell Barlow died of consumption at the residence of her parents in Afton, on Sabbath morning, April 20, 1884; age, 19 years, 6 mos. and 2 days. Although Miss Barlow has only been in Afton for the past two years she had gained many friends. She was a faithful member of the M. E. Church. The remains were interred in the Afton cemetery on Monday afternoon. Funeral services were, owing to the absence of the M. E. pastor, preached by Rev. Carpenter.
