DELBERT BENEDICT, Greenfield

Delbert Clifford Benedict, 85, of Greenfield died May 31, 2006, at Greenfield Manor Nursing Home.

Graveside services were held Friday, June 2, at Winterset Cemetery with Pastor John Shaull officiating.

Delbert Benedict was born Oct. 16, 1920, in Union County to Alexander Newton and Mary Hannah (Wright) Benedict. On Oct. 31, 1952, he married Mildred Kathryn Ballard in Hiawatha, Kan. Delbert farmed in Madison County and worked construction.

He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers, Ralph and Everett; and a sister, Ona Benedict.

He is survived by two sons, Clifford Benedict of Greenfield and Paul Benedict of Des Moines; two daughters, Ramona Cunningham and Becky Weatherly, both of St. Charles; two brothers, Chuck and Henry; three sisters, Nina, Mary Ellen and Elizabeth; and 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
