Peak, Ben –
Ben Peak, long time blacksmith and implement dealer of Kent; died at his home Friday morning, Dec. 16,

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church in Kent in charge of the Rev. R. V. Felt of Prescott also pastor of the Kent church. Burial was made in the Cromwell cemetery. Services at the grave were in charge of the Tremont Lodge, A.F. & A. M., of Lenox, of which he was a member.

Obituary
Ben Peak, son of Mordika and Margaret Peak, was born in Industry, Ill., on Oct. 27, 1856, and died Dec. 16, 1938, at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 19 days.

In 1867 he came to Union county where he has since resided. On March 10, 1886, he was united in marriage to Ellen Jane Vess, who preceded him in death Dec. 6, 1922. To them were born three sons and three daughters Roy E of Ferris, Calif.; Herbert B., Bremerton, Wash.; and Lester H., Kent; Mrs. Willis W. Fogle and Mrs. Lyle Proud, both of Kent and Mrs. Eugene Brotherton of Creston. He is also survived by two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Ella Blosser of Cromwell, Mrs. Eva Petrie of Arispe and William who lives in Idaho

On coming to Kent in 1884 he engaged in the blacksmithing business and some years later added farm implements, in which business he continued for many years.

He was a member of the Methodist church since 1895. He was also a member of the Lenox Masonic Lodge and the Kent Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
