Philip James Riemenschneider was born February 25, 1977 in Des Moines, Iowa to Julie Ann (Horton) Riemenschneider. He graduated from Clarke High School in 1995. Philip entered rest on December 20, 2011.
Philip was united in marriage to Brenda Lou Cheers on September 4, 1999 in Afton, Iowa. He worked as a mechanic for the Farmer's Coop in Afton and also helped farm with his father-in-law in the Afton area. Philip attended the Arispe United Methodist church and was a member of the Afton Lion's Club, Frank's Coffee Crew and Arispe Development Corporation.
Philip is survived by his wife, Brenda of Afton; three children: Mattie, Owen and Ronnie, at home; his mother, Julie Horton (friend Eli Weir) of Osceola; brother, Jeff (Bethany) Riemenschneider of Murray; sister, Kim (Tim) Jackson of Osceola; father and mother-in-law, Ron and Mary Lou Cheers of Afton; maternal grandparents, James and Rosalee Horton of Osceola; three sisters-in-law, Sarah (William) Long of Afton, Ronda (Jason) Driskill of Creston and Callista (Nick) Wilkey of Afton, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Loretta Riemenschneider.
Funeral services were held on Friday, December 23, 2011 at the Arispe United Methodist Church, with Pastor Joel Sutton, officiating. Interment was at the Abel Cemetery, northeast of Arispe, Ia. Honorary casket bearers were Bob Arnold, Jim Bradley, Kenny Clark, Don Damewood, Roger Eyberg, Mike Fry, Marvin Ringberg, Dick Ross and Don Wilson. Active casket bearers were Gene Cameron, Ed Cheers, Frank Eighme, Rick Paxton, Mike Rollings and Joe Ross. Organist was Bonnie Riepe. Vocalist was Don Wilson. Pianist was Dan Downing.
