James Edward "Jim" Peak, the son of Dorothy (Kralik) and Edward L. Peak, was born on July 8, 1943, in Creston, Iowa. Jim entered eternal rest on September 27, 2010, at Greater Regional Hospice Home, Creston, Iowa, at the age of sixty-seven years, two months, and twenty-three days.
Jim attended St. Malachy School and graduated from Creston High School in 1962. He was active in school, especiallly in football. Jim served briefly in the United States Air Force before being discharged for health reasons. He lived his entire life in the Creston community.
Jim was employed at Creston News Advertiser, Center Milk, and retired from Fansteel Dynamics after 34 years of service. During his life, Jim was active with the Knights of Columbus, Holy Spirit Church, Elks and Elks Clowns, Jaycees and Creston Athletic Boosters. He loved to bowl . Jim was a strong supporter and active promoter of many community projects and activities.
Jim is survived by his mother, Dorothy Peak, Creston; his aunt, Velma Kralik, West Des Moines and several cousins and a host of special friends. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Edward, in 1997; his grandparents; his uncle, Roy Kralik; and many special friends.
Memorials may be directed to the Peak Foundation for a scholarship to Southwestern Community College.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 29th,
10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 107 West Howard Street, Creston, Iowa.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with interment in the Calvary Cemetery in Creston.
