Perry Beymer Johnson, 83, of Creston, died July 17, 2010, at Creston Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, at the United Church in Diagonal. Burial will be in the Diagonal Cemetery. Visitaion will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, 216 Broadway, Diagonal. Memorials may be given in his name to be decided later. Online condolences may be left at www.watsonarmstrongfh.com. Perry Beymer Johnson, son of Olive (Beymer) and Neil Johnson was born May 28, 1927, in rural Ringgold County. Perry attended Diagonal schools, graduating in 1944. Perry enlisted in the U.S. Army right after graduation. While in the Army Perry married Donna Marie Tindle on February 24, 1946. Perry was a TV and radio repairman and truck driver. He lived in Diagonal, Red Oak and has lived in Creston since 1981. Perry is survived by his wife, Donna Marie Johnson of Creston, daughter, Jil Johnson (Jim Hartman) of Creston; sons, Joe Johnson of Creston, Jim (wife Elaine) Johnson of The Colony, Texas and Jay (wife Vicky) Johnson of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah (husband Oscar) Venegas, Heath (wife Melissa) Johnson, Ben (wife Dawn) Johnson, Tara Wyer (Fiance Greg Mtyers) and Sara (husband Dan) Coleman; great-grandchildren, Emma and Joseph Venegas, Mckenzie and Madison Johnson, Savannah Johnson, Ethan Fry and Allivea VanDeBoe and brother Elvin (wife Rebecca) Johnson of Alexandria, Va. Perry was preceded in death by his parents; son Jack in 1949; daughter, Jan in 1971; son Jerry in 2001; grandsons, Christopher Johnson in 1979 and Richard Hagen in 1983; brother Cecil in 2001 and sister-in-law Darlene Johnson in 1998.
