Floyd Eklund, 57 of Afton, passed away Sunday, June 10, 1979 at the University of Iowa hospitals at Iowa City. He was a native of Union County and was a carpenter.

Floyd Eklund was born in Union county, November 23, 1921, the son of Bernard and Edith Snider Eklund. He had been married to Barbara Griep, from whom he was divorced.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mel (Debbie) Thaete of Wendell, Idaho, and Mrs. Pam Boyer of Wendell, Idaho; five grandchildren; his mother, who lives in Wendell, Idaho; a sister, Mrs. Fred (Dorothy) Bliss of Halfmoon Bay, Calif.; and a brother, Boyd Eklund of Fairfield, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother. He had lived for a time in Gooding, Idaho. He was a member of the Shannon City United Methodist church, the Elks, and the Jaycees. A memorial has been established for the Alcohol Assistance Agency Center at Zion.

Graveside services were held Wednesday afternoon at Oakland cemetery at Shannon City. The Stroud-Lindsay Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
