Winterset Woman Was Former Resident of Afton Community.

Mrs. Almyra Berry of Winterset died Christmas day Dec. 25 1962 at Madison County Memorial Hospital here. She was 75 years of age.

Mrs. Berry was a long-time resident of near Afton, where much of her life was spent on a farm. She had been living in Winterset at the time of her death.

She was the former Almyra Donner, daughter of Jonathan and Virginia Linson Donner. She was born Sept. 9, 1887, near Afton. She was married at Afton March 18, 1908 to Walter A. Berry.

She was a member of the Afton Methodist Church.

Mrs. Berry's husband died in 1958. A daughter, brother and sister preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sons, Elton W. Berry of Wahkon, Minn., Elbe (Jim) Berry of Des Moines, Iowa, Walter W. Berry of San Jose, Calif. and Mrs. Maxine Groesbeck of Lorimor,Iowa. she also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Belle Clough of Atchison, Kan., and Mrs. Flora Arnold of Burlington, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held this Friday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery at Afton.
