STAR ENTEPRISE
DECEMBER, 1900 [NO OTHER DATE]MYRTLE BROWN
It is sad this holiday season to be called upon to chronicle the death of a young wife and mother. Less than a year ago, Sylvester R. Brown led to the marriage altar Miss Myrtle Beale. She was born October 25, 1881. Yesterday he followed her remains to our Silent City of the Dead. After weeks of suffering Mrs. Brown closed her eyes in death on Tuesday, December 18th.
Her life work was recorded in nineteen short years and she leaves a bright little baby boy only two weeks old, who will never really know a mother's love. It is an unusually sad death and the bereaved husband and relatives have the warmest sympathy of the entire community.
The funeral services were held at Zoar Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, Rev. Schaible of Creston, officiating and the remains were laid to rest in Afton's City of the Dead, Greenlawn.
