C. Eckerson, a prominent boot and shoe man, of Creston, died suddenly yesterday morning of apoplexy.

August 3, 1893

The funeral of C. Eckerson, of Creston, whose sudden death we announced as having taken place Wednesday of last week, occurred on Friday. It was one of the most impressive and beautiful of ceremonies. The remains were interred in Graceland cemetery south of Creston. Mr. Eckerson was a very popular man, hale and jovial, with a warm handclasp and word of welcome for all comers. His strict intergrity and upright character had rendered him prosperous in his business. He will be sadly missed I the home circle and the business avenues of his home city.
