Afton Enterprise
Afton, Iowa, June 8, 1893After an illness of six weeks, death came to the relief of George Remley, early Friday morning. At times he was reported better, but the improvement was not permanent. His illness was of a baffling nature and nothing could be done for his relief. Funeral services were held at the home on Saturday morning by the Rev. F. L. Goff, after which the remains were taken to the Claypool cemetery in Jones township and interred. Mr. Remley was about seventy-one years of age. He was well known among the pioneers of the county, having driven state in the early days before the railroad. He was highly respected and his death is deeply regretted. The relatives have the tenderest sympathy of all in their bereavement.
(name on stone is George W. Remmele )
