Donald J. Tuttle dies at 86

Donald Jasper Tuttle, 86, of Brush died Wednesday at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush.

Tuttle was born Dec. 22, 1918, in Shannon City, Iowa, to Harry and Ida (Elliott) Tuttle. He attended the Melrose country school his first eight years and then attended and graduated from Arispe High School in Arispe, Iowa.

He married Viva May Wilson in her parents' home outside Shannon City March 9, 1945. They farmed in Iowa for the first five years of their marriage. In 1950, they moved to Brush and farmed and ranched near Brush. He loved his work and attending church meetings.

Survivors include his wife, Viva of Brush; one son, Darwin of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; one daughter, Joyce Tuttle of Brush, and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three siblings, Pearle Tuttle, Virgil Tuttle and Hazel Cheers, and his parents.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Heer Mortuary Chapel, 222 Cameron St. in Brush.
