Mrs. Louisa C. Stewart peacefully departed from us March 1, 1892 at 11 o'clock a.m. She had been suffering from la grippe for two months, also being afflicted with heart trouble. This dear one passed away while asleep, without struggles. The Master called her to His loving arms, not permitting her to behold or speak to the dear ones left behind. She was born in Rochester, N. Y., in the year 1815. shortly after her parents, Levi and Rachel Leech, moved to Detroit, Mich., where she remained until the age of 16, when she was joined in marriage to Frederick Mallet, being the mother of two children, losing both children and husband in death. She then married Alexander Stewart in 1842, and was the mother of nine children by him, seven of whom are now living---two in Wisconsin, four in Iowa and one in Nebraska.

Five children were permitted to attend their mother's last call and attend the sad duties
