Arlo Richards, Creston

Arlo L. Richards, 84, of 225 S. Chestnut died Wednesday at the Creston Manor Nursing Home here.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Keating-Lindsay Funeral Home. The Rev. George W. Campbell will officiate with burial in Graceland Cemetery. Visition will be after 10 a.m. Saturday with a family night from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Richards was born June 2,1901, in Mercer Township, Adams County to John and Carrie (nee Dicks) Richards. He married Lila Edna Still Jan 17, 1930, in Maryville, Mo., He was a lifetime resident of Adams and Union counties. He was a section man for the railroad for 42 years, retiring July 1, 1966.

Survivors include his wife, Lula of Creston; four sons, Arthur of Joliet, ILl., Andy of Hepburn, and Larry and John Richards of Creston; seven daughters, Agnes (Mrs. Floyd W.) Smith, Phyliss (Mrs. Frank) Stwart, Linda Richards, Arlene Paxton all of Creston, Patricia (Mrs. Larry of Murry, Mrs. Deloris Parker of Independence, Mo., and Roberta Marshall from a previous marriage to Odessa Long) of Crous Cristi, Texas; 36 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren

He was preced in death by a daughter, a son, his parents, two sisters, two grandchildren and a great grandchild.

A memorial has been established to the family.
