Betty Joan Dukes, 54, of Creston died Aug 23,1999, at her home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Aug 27 at Coen-Beaty Funeral Home, 809 W.

Montgomery Street. The Rev. Thomas Woodin will offciate with burial in the North Fairview Cemetery, in Lenox. There is open visitation after 9 a.m.

Friday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in her name.

Mrs. Dukes was born Nov 20,1944, in Creston to Clifford Russell and Betty Mae Jean (Blanchard) Franke. In 1965, she married Don Shinn Sr. in Des Moines. In 1976 she married Charles Dukes in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Don Shinn Jr. of Creston and Cory (wife Gerilyn) Shinn of Des Moines; a daughter, Cyndi (husband Kevin) Armstrong of Corning; two brothers, Wayne (wife Carol) Franke of Des Moines and Leroy (wife Terry) Franke of Jacksonville, Ariz.; Three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles Dukes; and a brother, Arthur Franke
