Ted Recoy, 81, of Orient died Dec 14,2000, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Service will be 1:30 p.m. Dec 18 at Coen - Beaty - Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery Street. The Rev. Lucy Elrick will officiate with burial in Graceland Cemetery. There is open visition after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Recoy was Born 14,1919, Mitchell, S.D., to Jessie and Nora (Kinkennon)Recoy. On Nov 11,1942, he married Lelia Johnson in Grant City, Mo. On March 30,1982, he married Polly Niel. He was employed as a laborer on natural gas pipeline, retiring in 1976. He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Polly Recoy of Orient; a son, Levy Recoy of Earlham; two daughters, Lucille Fletchall of Tulsa, Okla., and Nina Vaughan of Earlham; five sisters, Anna Kinkennon of Creston, Susan (husband Roger)
Loevenguth of Jupiter, Fla., Helen Martin of Hamill, S.D. Janet (husband Wayne) Norris of Aurora, Colo., and Maxine Busse of Harrison, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; 31 great - grandchildren and 10 great - great - grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Lelia; son Harold Recoy; parents; brothers Jim, Ray, Robert and John Recoy; and sisters Mae Hedlund, Margaret Foster and Gladys Weeber.
