Margaret Martens, Creston

Margaret Gaertner Rall Kline Martens, 75, 1200 N. division Street, died Oct. 17, 1997, at Greater Community Hospital in Creston.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Oct. 20 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Creston. The Rev. David McNight will officiate with burial in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Sunday with family night 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. The Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Avenue, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Lutheran Hour Ministries and Opportunity Village.

Mrs. Martens was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Malone, Texas to Henry and Pauline Gaertner. She graduated from Providence Hospital School of Nursing and worked for many years at Greater Community Hospital. she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Lutheran Laymen's League.

She married Harold Rall on Aug. 30, 1944, in Waco, Texas and he died April 15, 1976. On Nov. 11, 1978, she married Paul Kline in Creston and he died April 19, 1983. She married Eugene Martens on Feb. 21, 1987, in Creston.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene Martens of Creston, four sons, the Rev. Ronald (wife Mary Anne) Rall of St. Louis, MO., Dr. Douglas (wife Naomi) Rall of Greenville, S.C., Steven Rall of Lakeville, Minn., and Mark Rall of Clear Lake; four sisters, Esther (husband Ralph) Nafzger of Plainview, Texas; Bertha Strauch of Malone, Texas; Hulda Shaddock of Dallas, Texas; and Marie (husband Joe) Blum of Bella Vista, Ark; and 13 grandchildren.

Se was preceded in death by husbands Harold Rall and Paul Kline, brothers John, Carl and Henry Gaertner, and sisters Paula Bielefedlt and Ruth Shipp.
