Maloy Man Dies of Auto Accident

Brought to Hospital

Clarence Ernest Jose of Maloy died at 5 a.m. today at Greater community hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident near Clearfield about 10 o’clock last evening.

It was reported this morning that Mr. Jose was driving south from Clearfield along highway 25 when his car was struck by a northbound truck. He suffered a crushed chest in the impact and was brought to the Creston hospital where he died seven hours later.

Mr. Jose was born at Bridgewater on Sept. 17, 1906, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Jose. He lived for several years at Earlham but later moved to the Shannon City vicinity where he engaged in farming from 1940 until last spring when he moved to a farm near Maloy.

Surviving relatives include his wife, seven minor children, Richard, Donald, Wilma, Clifford, Robert, Betty and Johnnie, four sisters, Mrs. William Hiatt and Mrs. Eva Royal of Creston, Mrs. Myrtle Mowery of Cromwell and Mrs. Mabel Rowe of Clearfield, and two brothers, Carl of Valentine, Nebr., and Bert of Granada, Minn.

The body will remain at the Roland funeral home until the time of funeral services, arrangements for which are not yet completed.

Funeral Services for Accident Victim will be held Tuesday

Funeral services for Clarence Jose of Maloy, who died early Saturday at Greater Community hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident near Clearfield Friday night, will be held in Creston Tuesday afternoon.

Brief services at 2 o’clock at the home of Jr. Jose’s brother-in-law John Royal of 509 West Levy street, will precede formal services to be conducted by the Rev. Henry Gordn of Grand River at 2:30 p.m. at the Roland Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Graceland with Paul Dukes, Allen Long, Savannah Wilson, Lester Tallant, Billy Johnson and A. Rogers as pallbearers.
