MARRIED 50 YEARS

On January 13, 1928 occured the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. & Mrs. Weeter of Thayer, Iowa, and it was observed at their home by a family dinner and an open house from two to five, during which time many friends called.

Mr. & Mrs. Weeter were married at the home of Mrs. Weeter's parents in Union County, Iowa, in 1878, and moved to a farm nearby, where they lived for 42 years, the rest of the time they lived in town.

There were 102 guests present at their marriage and only 12 of these are living, the rest have gone to their reward. Three of those living were present at the golden wedding.

One marvelous thing of this 50th anniversary was the presence of all the children and grandchildren of Mr. & Mrs. Weeter, no deaths having occured in the immediate family during those 50 years of wedded life.

Mr. & Mrs. Weeter are the parents of four children, two sons and two daughters and they have eight grandchildren.
