“A wedding of interest to people of this vicinity is that of Miss Breta Faust, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Faust, of Creston and Harry Kinkade, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kinkade of Cromwell. The ceremony was performed Sunday, May 8 [1938] at 7 a.m. in the Salem Lutheran church [in Creston] by the pastor Rev. C. H. Carlson. The couple was attended by Kathryn Moffitt and Lyle Abbott of Creston. The wedding march was played by Mrs. Carlson and the bride was given in marriage by her father. The bride wore a bemberg sheer and carried red roses, and the bridesmaid wore flowered chiffon and carried yellow tea roses. Following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was served at the future home of the bridal couple to the immediate families, Miss Moffitt; Mr. Abbott, and Rev. and Mrs. Carlson. Mrs. Kinkade is a graduate of the Creston high school class of 1937 and is a prominent worker in the Salem Lutheran church. Mr. Kinkade is a graduate of Cromwell high school, 1933, and is now employed at the Kerr-Cochrane Chevrolet Company. After a short trip in the west the couple will be at home at 1104 North Cherry Street [Creston].” END
