I checked at our county museum for an obit. None had been saved in any of the collections, and unfortunately, the Lenox newspaper for that year was not included in the microfilm collection.

There was a mortician's record for Samuel.
Samuel C Haynes, aged 75 yrs, died Feb 21, 1924 at the J. Draper home. Funeral was held Feb 23, at the Lenox Church of Christ.

A county history book contained the following: Samuel and Elizabeth Haynes moved to Taylor County from Hagertown, MD in 1891. Daughter Bertha was 13 at the time.

In the Taylor county courthouse, Death Records book 4, p 18
Haynes, Samuel C, male, white, age 75 y, 8 d, died Feb 21, 1924 at Lenox of old age. Widowed, attending Dr. K R Huff, undertaker, O. P. Arnold.
