Obituary - C.W. CUNNINGHAM
Chancey W. CUNNINGHAM was born in Cuba, Fulton county, Ill., Sept 16th, 1856. He came to Taylor county, near Lenox, when about 25 years old and resided there until 7 years ago, moving thence to Missouri for a two-year residence, then coming back to Iowa, settling at Grand River and later at Kellerton. He moved with his family to Tingley, Dec. 23rd, 1908. He was taken ill Jan. 10th last and died April 11th, 1909, aged 52 years, 6 months, and 25 days. He was married Jan. 10th, 1884, to Miss Cordelia FERRIS, at Lenox, Iowa. To this union were born ten children - eight boys and two girls - all living. He was converted and joined the church at Wesley, on the Cromwell circuit, in 1896 and had lived a consistent Christian life ever since. He died in the faith with the full assurance of life eternal in the better world. His father, mother, four brothers and three sisters, wife and children are living to mourn his departure. The funeral services were held at Lenox at 3:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. FLEISHER of the M.E. church, interment being made in the Lenox cemetery. Those from a distance who came to attend the services were Mesdames J.W. CUNNINGHAM and Tom MARKS of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Dan CUNNINGHAM and sons, Walter and Bert, and Mrs. and Mrs. BOOTH of Creston.
