Margaret M. Casey, daughter of William and Sarah Darrah Haggerty, was born in Mercer Township, Adams county, Iowa, June 1, 1897 and passed away February 23, 1978 at the Creston Manor Care Center in Creston, Iowa. She spent her entire life in this community until she moved to Creston, Iowa in 1971.

On February 27, 1918 she was united in marriage to Clifford G. Casey. To this union were born four daughters and one son. Ila M. Eivins of Creston, Iowa; S. Florence Reynolds of Omaha, Nebr.; Leota M. Jones of Corning, Iowa; Wilma D. Armagost of Des Moines, Iowa; and Clifford Delmar Casey, who died in infancy.

Other survivors include three sons-in-law, Lyle Eivins, Woodrow Reynolds and Charles Jones; seven grandchildren, Larry Stevens, Geraldine Henderson, Doyle Reynolds, Charlissa Phillips, Klinton Jones and Margaret Armagost; also six great grandchildren, Barbara and Deborah Henderson, Bradley and Jodi Stevens and Kristy and Scott Reynolds; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Roy Riley of Creston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, two brothers, three sisters, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Margaret was a faithful member of the Mercer Center United Methodist church where she served in the Sunday School and W.S.C.S. One of her greatest delights in life was being a hostess for members of her family. In her later years her grandchildren were also a special comfort and joy.

Funeral Services were held at the Mercer Center United Methodist church February 25 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Floyd Newbrough officiating. Interment was in the West Fairview Cemetery, Lenox, Iowa
