Clay Owens

OWENS

I'm looking for ancestors of Clay Owens. (his sister Mary E. Owens Arterburn, was my gr-grandmother). Clay Owens came to Tama County, IA as early as 1912, possibly as early as 1900, probably from Macon Co.,MO. He farmed the James Franklin Lewis farm located in Section 28 of Carlton Twp, Tama County. He rented their farm in August of 1912. Per history of Tama County, IA. He was born in 1874 in MO. Married Ella. One son, Willie C. died in Tama Co and is buried in Dobson cemetery. They had one other son, John. (Johnnie married Louella. She worked at a restaurant in Tama in the 1930's, they had one daughter named Opal). Clay and his family later moved to Marshall Co, IA. (He and Ella died in Pulaski, IA). I am wondering how Clay came to Tama County from Missouri. Is he related to some of the other Owens' families in that county?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. nancy.graves@excite.com
