Samantha Pennell was born in 1830 in Jackson County, Iowa. Marries John Kirkpatrick April 5, 1849.
Children
1. Melissa born June 17, 1850 D March 10, 1901 2. Laban born May 25, 1852 D.May 12, 1925
3. Charlotte "Lottie" born 1855 dies ?
4. Minerva born 1857 or 1858 in Waterloo D. ?
5. Eddy born 1858 disappears from the census roles.
They all appear on the Linn County census of 1860.
On June 4,1874 John marries Nancy Groves in Iowa and shortly there after moves to Kansas and later to Texas. Nancy and John are buried in the Strickling Cemetery at Joppa, Burnet Co., Texas.
The head stone reads: Rev. John Kirkpatrick born October 27, 1823 and died April 16, 1899. Hers reads Nancy K. born July 23, 1825, died June 8, 1920.
I assume that Samantha died between the 1860 census and John's remarriage in 1874.
Minerva, Lottie and Laban are listed on the 1880 census in Burnet Co. Milissa is married and living in Kansas and later California, but no mention is made of Eddy, so I assume he has died.
