Sharon Kay Graff, 74, of Tama, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, at Grandview Heights Care Center in Marshalltown under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor T. Edward Breed officiating. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Sharon was born on June 13, 1940, in Tama, Iowa, the daughter of Olin and Evelyn (Wacha) Bidwell. She graduated from Tama High School. On November 15, 1959, she was united in marriage to John Henry Graff in Tama, Iowa. Sharon and John farmed for a few years before moving to town. She had her own ceramic business for a time and worked at Pioneer Hi-Bred International for many years. Sharon was employed at Meskwaki Bingo and Casino Hotel from the time of their opening until her retirement in 2002. Sharon was a member of the Tama American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to go fishing and took many fishing trips to Minnesota over the years. She also loved her dog, Pepper and enjoyed ceramics. Survivors include two children, Brenda (John) Romig of Granger and Kevin Graff of Tama; two step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, twin sister, Sandy Frahm of Tama and Mary Duggan of Tama; one brother Dale (Dianne) Bidwell of Tama and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, John on May 15, 1987; and an infant brother, Larry Bidwell. A memorial fund has been established.
