Indian Places Revolver to Head and Drops Before Onlookers
Filled with mescal, till he knew not what he was doing, Harry Davenport, a strapping young buck of the Musquakie{sic} tribe at Tama, stepped out into the main street of the town, placed a revolver at his temple, fired, and fell dead before the eyes of several witnesses.
Mescal drinking has recently been brought to the tribe by other Indians. The liquor is brewed from a variety of cacti found in New Mexico. The victim becomes drunk much the same as the opium eater, and in the mind of the Indian he sees the Great Father and is able to converse with him.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in the Meskwaki Cemetery and was born in 1880 and died February 1.
