JOAN MARIE BARTLEY

Joan Marie Bartley, 84, of Tama, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Premier Estates of Toledo. There will be no local public services. Interment will be held at a later date in Red Cloud, NE.

Joan was born on July 22, 1933, in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of John F. and Marie (Langenbrunner) McNary.

On February 22, 1952, she was united in marriage to Gerald Ivan Bartley in Red Cloud, NE. Joan was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm. They were residents of Tama County for over sixty years. Joan was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama, where she was active in CCW and the church choir. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary.

Survivors include three sons, Gerald (Janet) Bartley Jr., of Elkhart, IN, Steven (Elena) Bartley of Fairfax, CA, and Michael (Dale) Bartley of Moyork, NC; six grandchildren, Dean Bartley, Tracy Barr, Robert and Shaun Bartley, Chad and Jodeena Thomas; fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Marie, Mary and Kay.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Gerald "Ivan" Bartley Sr., on February 11, 2011; and four brothers.

A memorial fund has been established.
