INDIAN SUICIDES
Toledo, April 4. – Winfield Scott, an Indian committed suicide at the land reservation by shooting himself with a shotgun. He was 19 years of age and married to a squaw 17, and from writing he left it is supposed domestic infidelity was the cause, Joseph Tesson, the interpreter, says it is the fifth case of suicide among his people (word is blurred) located in Iowa forty years ago.
