SERVICES HELD

Funeral services for Virgil R. Haynes, 58, of rural Tama were held Jan. 9, with burial at Sheridan Cemetery south of Tama.

Mr. Haynes died Jan. 6 at Rochester, Minn., where he had been transferred from Grinnell General Hospital for treatment of a kidney ailment.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Haynes farmed and worked for the Packaging Corporation of America for 34 years. He also worked as a power engineer.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine; a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Linda) Jakubowsky of Cedar Rapids; one son, James of Tama; five grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Haynes of Montezuma; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Lola) Bogue of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Charles (Bernice) Mayo of Grinnell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one brother.
