Rites Friday for Mrs. Mohler, 86, Toledo Resident

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Friday afternoon at the Henderson Funeral home in Toledo for Mrs. Bertha Mohler, 86. Mrs. Mohler died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, March 24, 1954, at the home of her son, Raymond Mohler west of Toledo. Mrs. Mohler had been ill with heart trouble for the past five months. She suffered a stroke Monday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. She was born Bertha Ellen Head Oct. 1, 1868 at Muscatine, Ia. She was the daughter of Riley and Eliza Burnside Head. When six months of age she came with her parents in a covered wagon to a farm 10 miles north of Toledo, now owned by a brother, Jake Head. She received her education in a rural school. She was married to Eil Mohler about 1885. He died in 1927. They farmed in the Toledo vicinity all of their married life, and 36 years ago purchased the farm where she died. She had lived there since that time. She is survived by three sons, Ross and Russell living east of Toledo and Raymond, with whom she made her home; two brothers, Jake and Charles both of Toledo; four grandchildren, the children of Raymond Mohler. They are Peggy, Perry, Cheryl and Sharyn. Preceding her in death were five sisters and one brother, Mrs. Joe (Mattie) Hall, Mrs. Les (Florence) Bovenmeyer, Mrs. Will (Annie) Kepler, Mrs. Willus (Margaret) Otterman, Mrs. Fred (Gertrude) Striley and the brother, John Head. Rev. Ivan Rose will be in charge of the services. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery, northwest of Toledo. Pallbearers will be Lynn Mohler, Horace and Riley Head of Toledo, Herbert Hall, Garwin, Russell Harris, Montour and Kenneth Mohler, Laurens, Ia. Mrs. John Gray of Toledo, a niece of the deceased, will sing two selections, accompanied by Mrs. M.R. Thompson of Toledo. In charge of flowers will be Mrs. Lonnie Berger, Mrs. Blanche Striley and Mrs. Floyd Randall.
