Grant Hill, 69, died last Wednesday evening at his home. He suffered a stroke about 6 o'clock and death followed at 8 o'clock. The funeral service was held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the C. L. Henderson funeral home and was conducted by Dr. J. H. Yaggy, pastor of the United Brethren church. Music was furnished by a male quartet and the members were J. E. Elston, J. H. Owen, O. L. Harrison and C. L. Emerson. They sang, "Jesus Lover of My Soul," and "Face to Face." Accompaniments were played by Mrs. Carrie McKinney. Casket bearers were C. L. Mason, F. B. Carson, Dell Bullard, Ray Asher, Ned Dann, and Charles Whalin. The flowers were cared for by Mrs. C. A. Head and Mrs. McKinney. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The following life sketch was read by Dr. Yaggy: Grant Hill, son of Absolon and Rebecca Hill, was born in Boone county, at Boone, Iowa, June 6, 1867, and died at the age of 69 Years, 8 months and 25 days. When a small boy he moved with his parents to Tama county where he spent the remainder of his life with the exception of five years when he resided in Humbolt county on a farm. He moved to Toledo 25 years ago from a farm. He was married to Bertie Stineshower, March 13, 1890. After coming to Toledo he united with the United Brethren church during the pastorate of the late Dr. T. D. Crites. He was a faithful member of the church and attended services as long as health permitted. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, a nephew, Carl Stineshower, a sister. Mrs. Mary McAnulty, of Elberon and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Stevenson, Mrs. Gertrude Scheck, Miss Hazel McAnulty and Kair Grau, Cedar Rapids; Will Steeg, Lake View; and Mrs Mary McAnulty and daughter, Miss Elsie, of Elberon.
