Evelyn Esch, 85 passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the Avalon Care Center in Madison, Wis., A private family burial was held at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona, Wis.

Evelyn Alice Esch was born January 22, 1926 in rural Clutier, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Podhajsky Sevcik. She attended country school and graduated from Toledo High School in 1943. She then attended and graduated from St. Thomas Mercy School of Nursing at Marshalltown.

On April 24, 1948 she was united in marriage to Delmar D. Esch in Webster City. Due to Delmar's employment they resided at Knoxville, Tenn., Des Moines and Madison, Wis.,.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Delmar in 1967, a son Raymond D. Esch, her brother Bill Sevcik and sisters; Vera Vlasak, Blanche Rebik, Eleanor Kopriva, Dorothy Parizek and Mildred Calkins. Surviving are her children; Elizabeth (Jeff) Russell of New York, N.Y., and David Esch of Madison, Wis. Grandchildren Sara (Patrick) Houlihan of Ankeny and Steve Esch of Madison, Wis., a brother; Les (Sally) Sevcik of Traer and numerous nieces and nephews.
