Last Rites for Doroty Casey Were Monday
Died in Cedar Rapids Hospital Saturday
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock for Dorothy Casey, 7 year old daughter of Mr & Mrs Clarence Casey of Haven. The little girl, who had been in poor health all her life, passed away at Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids, on Saturday.
Last rites were in charge of the Rev Emma A Arnold, pastor of the Methodist church at Haven and burial was in the Haven cemetery.
Pallbearers were the Misses Helen Stone, Cora Klink, Wheeler and Eloise Ryan. The Misses Lois Carlson, Fay Stone, Corrine Cram and Ruth Ryan had charge of the many beautiful floral offerings.
Obituary
Dorothy Marguerite Casey, second daughter of Mr & Mrs Clarence Casey was born at Haven in Tama County, Iowa on March 1, 1930 and passed away while a resident of Haven on July 31, 1937 having reached the age of 7 years, 4 months and 30 days.
Her entire life was spent in the Haven community. Although never a strong child, she always took keen interest in life. She loved her school and passed the first grade in spite of frail health, her bright mind compensating for her weak body. She loved flowers, Sunday school and all interests of childhood. On the Sunday before Christmas she came with her sister Marilyn to the altar of the church and gave herself in baptism.
Besides her parents and sister, she leaves to mourn her passing her paternal grandmother, Mrs Mary Casey, her maternal grandparents, Mr and Mrs Charles Kent of Belle Plaine and many other relatives and friends.
Card of Thanks
We wish to extend our thanks to our many friends for their kind expressions of sympathy during the illness and since the death of our beloved daughter and sister. May you too find friends as true in your hour of sorrow. Mr and Mrs Clarence Casey and Marilyn.
