MRS. VERNE NORRIS DIED AT AGE 72 IN HER HOME IN TOLEDO

Mrs. Verne Norris, 72, died at her home in Toledo at 6 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 1958. She had been in failing health for four years.

Theresa Adele, daughter of Hiram N. and Jane Stewart Donaldson, was born in Toledo June 9, 1886. She received her education in the Toledo Public schools.

On Dec. 8, 1906 she was united in marriage to Verne Norris and they began housekeeping in Toledo, where she had spent her entire life with the exception of one year spent in Mitchell, South Dakota shortly after they were married.

She was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Past Presidents Parley, also a member of the Toledo Rebekah Lodge and Ladies Encampment Auxiliary at Tama. Mrs. Norris had always been very active in civic affairs. She was a member of the Mother Church, First church of Christ Scientist, Boston, Mass.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and three brothers, William of Colo, Arthur of Green Mountain, and Earl Donaldson of Toledo.

She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. E.J. (Vivian) Lacina, Tama, and Mrs. Franz N. (Margery) Sieck, Marion, Iowa, also a brother, Carl Donaldson, Ruthven, Iowa, and a sister, Mrs. Jos. Pecenka, Toledo, and four grandchildren, Mrs. Roger Whaley, Seattle, Wash., Dixie and John Lacina of Tama, and James Sieck of Marion. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Hollis, Bobzie, Sharon and Dickie Whaley.

Servicses were held Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Henderson Funeral Home in Toledo, with Mrs. Cecil Franks officiating. Interment was in the Woodlawn cemetery.

Mrs. M.R. Thompson accompanied Mrs. John Gray as she sang "Shepherd Show Me How To Go."

Flowers were cared for by Miss Edna Giger and Mrs. Ray Croskrey.

Pallbearers were C.E. Bell, Carl Ebersole, M.L. Kvidera, C.I. Turbett, M.R. Thompson and Roy Shaffer.
