LELAND "Dutch" SEALOCK

Funeral service for Leland Wendall Sealock, 77, of Traer, were he1d Friday, Dec. 23, 1994, at the United Methodist Church in Traer with burial in Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer. He died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 1994, at the his home. The service was offlciatad by the Rev. Marshall Monthei with Judy Mason serving as orgaist.

Graveside militery rites wore conducted by AmerIcan Legion Kubik-Finch Post No. 142, of Traer. Casket bearers were RIck Trask, Scott Sealock, Jay LeFevre, Dan Gabrielson, Joshua Daniels, Gary Jordon and Tyke Sealock.

Leland "Dutch" Sealock was born at Neola, Iowa, May 1, 1917, the son of Lemuel John and Bertha (Haward) Sealock. He graduated from Traer High School and then began farming.

On May 25,1943, Dutch was married to Roberta Haward. The couple made their home farming near Traer. Dutch served his country during World WW II and following his discharge he returned to farming. Following their retirement the couple made their home in ArIzona and in more recent years had returned to live in Traer.

Dutch was an avid farmer and his free moments were spent in his yard or home, bowling, or enjoying a round of goIf.

Following Roberta's death on Aug. 18, 1992, Leland continued to make his home in Traer . He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Traer and Kubik-Finch Post No. 142, American Legion.

In addition to his wife, Roberta, he was preceded in death by one daughter and her husband, Nancy and Richard Trask, his parents and one brother, Sheryl.

Surviving are one son, Warren and his wife, Martha, of College Station, TX; two daughters, Colleen Sealock of Salem, OR, Cindy and her husband, Mack Gabrielson of Belmond, IA; one brother, John of Dysart; five sisters, Olive Combs, Beulah Hemerson, Irene Jones and Bonnie Harper, all of Arizona, and Betty Parker of California; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangemetns were handled by Overton Family Funeral Home, Traer, IA.
