OBITUARY

M. MARVIN RICHMOND

Services for Matthew Marvin Richmond, 82, of Bradenton, FL, were held at Toale Brothers South Chapel in Bradenton on Monday, Feb. 4, 1991. Mr. Richmond died Feb. 2, 1991.

He was born May 4, 1908 in Traer, the son of Matthew and Clara (Fay) Richmond. He was a resort owner for many years in Akeley, MN, and after retirement lived in Pequot Lakes, MN, then moved to Bradenton, FL. He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II, a member of Whitfield Presbyterian Church, the American Legtion and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Preceding him in death were threee brothers, Andrew, Walter and Robert Richmond.

Survivina are his wife, Edna of Bradenton, FL; a sister Virginia Petersen of Reinbeck and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Whitfield Presbyteerian Church, 7045 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL, 34243.

Through the efforts of friends, two horseshow pitching courts at Traer's Taylor Park were dedicated to Richmond, the National Horseshoe Pitching Association two-time Senior Class World Champion in 1975 and 1981. A dedication of the courts and commemorative plaque took place July 4, 1988.
