OBITUARY

BARRY MASK

Barry Lee Mask, 54, of 1002 E. Bemer Ave., Waverly, IA, died Friday morning, March 24, 1995, at the Waverly Municipal Hospital from complications of cancer.

He was born May 14, 1940 in Traer, Iowa, the son of Harold and Evelyn (Hollmann) Mask. He attended school in Traer and graduated from Traer High School in 1960. He then began working for his grandfather's garage, Hollmann's Garage, in Traer, and later with his uncle in the same garage. During this time Barry also helped his father with his daily products business.

On Sept. 5, 1965 Barry was united in marriage to Cheryl Lynn Ricrson at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Waverly. the couple made their home near Dysart and in 1967 they moved to Newton where Barry was manager of the Goodyear Tire and Appliance Store. In 1970 Barry was promoted to the Goodyear Store in Charles City, Iowa and later he became an insurance agent for Mutual of Omaha. In 1978 Barry and his family moved to Waverly where he went to work for Garry's Tire Service as a front end specialist.

Cheryl died from cancer on May 2, 1983 and in 1990, Barry was diagnosed with bone cancer, which caused him to retire from Garry's Tire Service due to the disability.

He enjoyed spending time with his three sons and their activities, and also enjoyed reading.

Barry is survived by his three sons, Timothy Mask, Jeffrey Mask and Alan Mask, all of Waverly and by his mother, Evelyn Mask of Traer.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 27, at 11:00 am at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, with Bob Gaston officiating. Burial was in the Harlington Cemetery, Waverly.

Memorials can be directed to the Barry L. Mask Memorial Fund, in care of the family.
