OBITUARY

Irene B. Kladivo was born April 6, 1901 at Chelsea. Iowa; the daughter of Byron and Emma (Musel) Benedict. She attended school at Chelsea and on March 28, 1921 she was married to Frank Kladivo at Nevada, Iowa. Irene and Frank made their home in the communities of Iowa Falls, Parkersburg, Cedar Rapids and Cutier before moving to the Traer area. They made their home on a farm south of Traer and later retired to a home on Ridge Road northwest Traer.

Following Frank's death on June 9, 1973 she continued to reside there. While living near Traer she was employed at Sime's Cothing Store and later Pearl's Style Shop in Traer. In later years she has made her home at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer where her death came on Wednesday, April 26, 1995 at the age of 94 years.

In her spare time she enjoyed raising animals and cooking and cooked for several weddings and funerals. She was a member of Sr. Paul Catholic Church in Traer, Catholic Order of Forresters, Royal Neighbors, and a 50-year member of the Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank and one grandson Jim. She is survived by two sons and their wives: Paul and Rose Kladivo of Cedar Rapids and Ed and Kay Kladivo of Traer, two daughters; Barbara (Mrs. Lynn) Boyer of Sacramento, Ca., and Teresa Ahmad of Roseville, Ca., one brother and his wife Edwin and Dorothy Benedict and one sister Rozelle Cram both of Cedar Rapids, 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
