OBITUARY
Twylah O. Keese was born near Gladbrook on August 10, 1911, daughter of William and Elva (Meyer) Engel. Twylah attended country school and after her father's death when she was in the eighth grade she returned home to farm with her mother and later attended high school at Traer for two more years then again returning home to the farm.
On March 18, 1931, Twylah married Lester Keese at Cedar Falls, Iowa, and they began farming in Crystal Township. Twylah and Lester moved near Traer in 1937 and farmed the Galt farm and later the McCornack farm, purchasing the Kremenak farm in Geneseo township in 1948.
After Lester's death on October 16, 1973, Twylah continued to make her home on the farm until May 3 when failing health forced her to reside at Sunrise Hill Care Center where she died Saturday, May 21, 1983, at the age of 71 years.
Twylah is survived by two sons, James of Buckingham and Larry of Traer; two daughters, Mrs. Milt (Shirley) Wolfgram and Mrs. Duwane (Beverly) Hoeg both of Traer; and one sister, Mrs. Arlene Burghart of Traer; as well as 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
