OBITUARY
EVELYN BURRELL
Funeral serevices for Evelyn R. Burrell, 72, of Traer were held Saturday, March 1, 1997 at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church in Traer, with the Rev. Eric Spake officiating. Burial was at West Union Cemetery, rural Traer.
She died Wednesday Feb. 26, 1997, at Sunrise Hill Care in Traer.
Music for the funeral service was provided by Jeanette Tomlinson. Casket bearers were Jason Boldt, Marvin Boldt, Troy Kowalsky, Tom Morris, Tracy Morris and Jeff Rippel. Flowers were tended to by Becky Harrison and Mary Boldt.
Evelyn Rose Burrell was born Oct. 29, 1924 in Emerson, Neb., the daughter of Henry and Martha (Fey) Barge. She attended school at Emerson and later at Dysart, where she graduated from Dysart High School.
Evelyn has made her home in Iowa most of her life and in later years had resided in Rockwell City, IA, where she owned and operated the Golden Buckle Restaurant. In April 1990 she returned to the Traer area and entered Sunrise Hill Care Center Feb. 17, 1997.
She enjoyed her family, gardening, cooking, canning and all animals.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, Flo Ann Morris and two sisters, Betty Boldt and Marian Geiger.
Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Linda Kowalsky of Cedar Rapids and Sharon and her husband, Jim Ripple of Vinton; three brothers, Raymond "Pete" Barge and Larry Barge, both of Traer, Roger Barge of Shell Knob, MO, two sisters, Norma Sturtz of Marshalltown and JoAnn Meyer of Vinton; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
