OBITUARY

LOREN W. FREDERICK

Funeral services for Loren W. Frederick, 78, of Traer were held Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1995, at the Traer United Methodist Church with burial in Dysart Cemetery. Mr. Frederick died Saturday, Feb. 11, 1995, at Covenant Medical Center. The Rev. John Oren, pastor of the Dysart United Church officiated at the service. Organ music was provided by Carol Lorenzen with Ruth Kavalier, soloist, Casket bearers were Wendall Coulter, Gary Edwoldt, Jim McAndrews, Vern Upmier, Robert White Jr., and Lloyd Petersen.

Loren Wesley Frederick was born at Solon, Iowa, Oct. 22, 1916, the son of Guy and Frances (Bartosh) Frederick. He graduated from Ely High School and then began attending barber school in Cedar Rapids. He then began barbering in Williamsburg, Iowa.

On Nov. 24, 1938, he married Irma Chandler at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. The couple moved to Dysart where Loren was a barber.

Loren served his country in the South Pacific during World War II. Following his discharge he returned with his family to Dysart where he was a barber. Later he began selling securities for the State Bond & Mortgage Company until his retirement.

In free moments he enjoyed his family, taking them fishing as well as playing golf and Bridge.

In recent years Loren was a resident of Sunrise Hill Care Center.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one grandson. He is survived by his wife Irma; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Betty) Keese of Dysart and Mrs. Tim (Barb) Edwards of Solon; five grandchildren and a special family friend, Mrs. Moonjean Tadiar.

Overton Family Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
