OBITUARY

Marjory Dodd

Funeral services for Marjory Innes Dodd, 98, of Traer, were held Monday morning, Feb. 22, at the United Presbyterian Church in Traer with burial in Grant Township Cemetery, Reinbeck. Mrs. Dodd died Friday, Feb. 19, 1993. The funeral service was officiated by the Rev. Rick Vesely with Mariel Brubaker serving as organist and Jean Staker, vocalist. Casket bearers were Jared Bauch, Jeffrey Drinovsky, Randy Havran, Randy Brubaker, Roy Kern and Craig Earley.

Marjory Innes Dodd was bom Oct. 27, 1894, at Reinbeck, the daughter of Robert G. and Mary Jane (Mitchell) Innes. She spent her youth living on a farm in Grant Township, and attended country school. In 1913 she graduated from Reinbeck High School.

Marjory was united in marriage to William H. Bicket on Nov. 9, 1922, and the couple operated a general store in Dinsdale for many years. Following William's death Dec. 17,1932, Marjory continued to run the store and served as a postmaster and, bank teller until her marriage to James Wilson Dodd June20,1940.

Marjory and James then moved to Traer where her husband operated a plumbing, business until his death May 15, 1948. She continued to make her home in Traer and worked as a bank teller at the First National Bank, retiring in February 1972. Mrs. Dodd was a memher of the United Presbyterian Church and was chosen the first woman member of the session in l960.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and two husbands were two sisters, four brothers and three stepchildren. Surviving is one daughter and her husband, Irma and Russell Drinovsky of Traer; one sister, Mrs. Lisle Fallgatter of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Overton Family Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
