OBITUARY

Louise Sieh, 97, Traer, died Friday, March 16, 2001, at Sunrise Hill Care & Rehab Center in Traer of an extended illness.

A memorial service was held at Overton Funeral Home in Traer, Tuesday, March 20, 2001, officiated by the Rev. Sheryl Campbell. Burial was at Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer.

A memorial fund has been established.

Louise Sieh was born December 10, 1903, on a farm east of Traer, the daughter of Ferdinand and Anna (Gosau) Sieh. She graduated from Traer High School in 1921 and attended Iowa State College and received a degree in Home Economics from Coe College.

She taught school in Rockford for 14 years before moving to Chicago to work in the book department at Marshall Fields. Later she returned to Traer to care for her parents and brother, who was injured in an accident. In later years, she made her home at North Tama Housing.

Louise enjoyed collecting Hummels and entertaining. She traveled throughout the United Statees and Canada with her sister, Elsie and enjoyed playing bridge.

She was a member of Ripley United Church of Christ and the Traer Chapter of PEO.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Ann and Elsie, and a brother, Henry.

She is survived by a niece, Ann and Robert Stephenson, Traer; two nephews, William and Anita Elmore, Gladbrook and Richard Elmore, Beauman; two great-nieces and three great-nephews.
